Ghanaian Business Owners Express Concern With Nigerian Corruption

Attendees to “Made in Ghana” says entrepreneurs fear bribery, delays and insecurity.

During a question and answer session at the “Doing Business in Nigeria” seminar at the “Made in Ghana” expo, Ghanaian business owners expressed their fears of taking their business to Nigeria. Speakers at the seminar allayed fears of corruption, instability and tough market competition by explaining the benefits foreign businesses can receive when starting in Nigeria.

These benefits include a 5-7 year tax holiday for new businesses and freedom to bring in and take out money from the country. The speakers expressed the importance of registering product logos and seeking endorsement with NAFDAC and the SON.

The expo is reported as successful as strengthening the ties between the two countries and alleviating the fears of the Ghanaian entrepreneurs.
